Vietnam’s average monthly salary up 9.4 percent year-on-year in Q3 2025

Vietnam’s average monthly wage reached VND 8.37 million or US$318 in the third quarter of 2025, up 9.44 percent from a year earlier, according to the latest data from the National Statistics Office view source.

The figure marks a steady improvement from VND 8.2 million in Q2 and VND 8.3 million in Q1, reflecting continued income growth across sectors.

Year-on-year, workers earned about VND 774,000 more than in Q3 2024.

Quarterly data show nominal wage growth moderating slightly

Over the past four quarters, average wages have climbed from VND 8.2 million in late 2024 to VND 8.37 million in Q3 2025, maintaining solid gains.

Agriculture, forestry and fishery

The average monthly wage in Vietnam’s agriculture, forestry and fishery sector reached VND 4.84 million or US$183.75 in the third quarter of 2025.

This was slightly lower than VND 4.9 million or US$186.03 recorded in the previous two quarters.

On a year-on-year basis, wages rose 11.02 percent, equivalent to VND 540,000 or US$20.50, marking a moderate gain compared with the 13.95 percent rise seen in late 2024.

Service’s sector

The average monthly wage in Vietnam’s service sector rose to VND 9.97 million or US$378.51 in the third quarter of 2025.

This represents a mild increase from VND 9.8 million or US$372.06 in the previous quarter.

Year-on-year, wages grew 8.88 percent, equal to VND 870,000 or US$33.03, marking the slowest pace of growth so far in 2025 after gains of over 11 percent earlier in the year.

Industry and construction

The average monthly wage in Vietnam’s industrial and construction sector reached VND 9.13 million or US$346.62 in the third quarter of 2025.

This was slightly higher than VND 9 million or US$341.69 in the previous quarter.

Wages increased by VND 630,000 or US$23.92 year-on-year, equivalent to 7 percent growth, reflecting slower momentum compared with earlier quarters.
