ToggleVietnam exported wood and wood products to the tune of US$969 million in February, down from US$1,606 million in January, a change of -39.64 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam exported US$2,585 million worth of wood and wood products by the end of February.
The United States accounted for US$452 million of Vietnam’s wood and wood products exports in February, down from US$809 million in January, a change of -44.08 percent. Year to date, exports to the United States reached US$1,261 million.
China followed with US$162 million in February, down from US$228 million in January, a change of -29.00 percent. Year to date, exports to China totalled US$391 million.
Japan recorded US$133 million in February, down from US$216 million in January, a change of -38.14 percent. Year to date, exports to Japan reached US$349 million.
South Korea accounted for US$37 million in February, down from US$58 million in January, a change of -35.61 percent. Year to date, exports to South Korea totalled US$95 million.
The Netherlands recorded US$21 million in February, up from US$11 million in January, a change of 83.96 percent. Year to date, exports to the Netherlands reached US$32 million.

Recent developments in wood and wood products in Vietnam include:
US antidumping tariffs wood products
The United States Department of Commerce issued a preliminary anti-dumping ruling on Vietnamese plywood and decorative wood products, with duties ranging from 191.85 percent to 194.80 percent.
Fifty companies received a separate rate of 193.32 percent, which is also the nationwide rate, higher than duties applied to China and Indonesia.
The Department of Commerce found no surge in imports and will not apply retroactive duties, with a final determination expected 135 days after publication. Read more→
US countervailing duties wood
The United States Department of Commerce issued preliminary countervailing duties on certain plywood and decorative wood products imported from Vietnam.
Preliminary subsidy rates range from 4.37 percent to 26.75 percent for mandatory respondents, while other Vietnamese exporters face a provisional rate of 15.56 percent.
The US Commerce Department preliminarily found subsidies in Vietnam’s preferential lending by state owned banks, industrial promotion grants, and the provision of inputs at below market prices, with a final ruling due in May 2026 and no retroactive duties imposed. Read more→

Vietnam’s wood and wood products industry is a major export sector, supplying furniture and processed timber to markets such as the United States, the European Union, and Japan.
Production is supported by a large network of manufacturers, competitive labour costs, and integration into global supply chains.
