ToggleIn December, Vietnam exported US$247 million worth of goods to Brazil, down 4.27 percent over November, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$2,736 million worth of goods to Brazil.
Vietnam exported US$47.76 million worth of other means of transportation, parts and accessories thereof to Brazil in December. This was up from US$46.40 million in November, a change of 2.92 percent.
It also exported US$43.67 million worth of computers, electrical products, and spare parts to Brazil in December. This was up from US$40.42 million in November, a change of 8.04 percent.
Adding to that, Vietnam exported US$27.99 million worth of fishery products to Brazil in December. This was up from US$17.71 million in November, a change of 58.06 percent.
It also exported US$27.13 million worth of telephones, mobile phones and parts thereof to Brazil in December. This was down from US$33.63 million in November, a change of -19.33 percent.

Imports from Brazil
In December, Vietnam imported US$474.86 million worth of goods from Brazil, up from US$381.06 million in November, a change of 24.62 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has imported US$5,031 million worth of goods from Brazil.
Vietnam trade with Brazil
In December, Vietnam imported goods worth US$474.86 million from Brazil and exported US$246.70 million, bringing total trade to US$721.56 million and resulting in a trade deficit of US$228.16 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Brazil has reached US$7,767.68 million, with Vietnam importing US$5,031.29 million worth of goods and exporting US$2,736.39 million.

Recent developments in trade and investment between the two countries include:
Brazilian beef import approvals
Vietnam, on January 1,3 authorised four additional Brazilian beef processing plants to export bone-in and boneless beef, expanding approved suppliers less than a year after opening the market in March 2025.
Four other Brazilian plants already authorised to export beef to Vietnam are operated by JBS.

Vietnam-Brazil trade relations
Vietnam and Brazil established diplomatic relations in 1989, with trade ties developing gradually as Vietnam expanded its global trade network following the Doi Moi reforms.
Bilateral trade has grown mainly through agricultural and industrial goods, and while there is no dedicated free trade agreement, Vietnam has engaged Brazil through discussions between ASEAN and Mercosur to explore longer-term trade cooperation.
