Vietnam-UK news
Recent developments involving the two countries include:
Unrecognised study program
Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training said it is considering a comprehensive inspection of the London College for Design and Fashion Hanoi over alleged unlicensed foreign linked training programs.
The ministry said linkage programs involving the United Kingdom’s Liverpool John Moores University had not been licensed for delivery in Vietnam, leaving graduates without recognised degrees.
Former students said they paid hundreds of millions of dong, including about VND 100 million (US$3,795), for courses marketed as globally recognised before being rejected by the ministry.

A major milestone was the UK–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, which took effect in 2021 and largely mirrors commitments under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, deepening market access and investment links.
