ToggleTourist arrivals from Oceania reached 48,682 in September, up 25 percent from August and 9 percent higher year-on-year, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism.
Australia remained the dominant source market with 43,255 visitors, rising 26 percent month-on-month and 7 percent compared with the same month last year.
Arrivals from New Zealand totalled 5,284, a 20 percent monthly increase and 33 percent higher year-on-year, showing strong momentum from this smaller but growing market.
Other Pacific island markets contributed modestly, up 16 percent from August.
Overall, the Oceania region’s travel to Vietnam continues to strengthen, supported by direct flights, visa liberalisation, and the appeal of Vietnam as a long-haul destination offering both value and variety.

Other tourist arrivals in September
Overall, Vietnam recorded 1.52 million international visitors in September 2025, a 9.6 percent decrease from August but a 19.5 percent increase compared to the same month last year.
Year-to-date, arrivals totalled 15.43 million, maintaining strong recovery momentum in the tourism sector.
Arrivals from Europe
Vietnam welcomed 161,503 visitors from Europe in September 2025, down 24.9 percent from August.
Despite the month-on-month decline, arrivals from the region were still 57 percent higher than a year earlier, bringing total European visitors to 1.91 million in the first nine months of the year.
Arrivals from the Americas
Tourist arrivals in Vietnam from the Americas reached 63,962 in September 2025, down 2.3 percent from August but up 2.6 percent year-on-year.
Total arrivals for the first nine months of 2025 stood at 799,442, with the highest monthly figure recorded in January at 119,656 and the lowest in May at 68,772.
