Vietnam welcomed 161,503 visitors from Europe in September 2025, down 24.9 percent from August, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism.
Despite the month-on-month decline, arrivals from the region were still 57 percent higher than a year earlier, bringing total European visitors to 1.91 million in the first nine months of the year.
Russia remained Vietnam’s largest European source market, recording 58,489 arrivals, down 4.9 percent from August but more than tripling compared with last year.
The United Kingdom followed with 19,751 arrivals, a 29.2 percent decline month-on-month, while France and Germany also saw sharp decreases of 39.9 and 24.6 percent, respectively.
Among smaller markets, Spain and Italy posted the steepest monthly drops, while Poland, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway recorded moderate gains.
Poland stood out with a 22.8 percent month-on-month increase and a 68.5 percent year-on-year rise.
Of note, Vietnam recorded 1.52 million international visitors overall in September 2025, a 9.6 percent decrease from August but a 19.5 percent increase compared to the same month last year.
Year-to-date, arrivals totalled 15.43 million, maintaining strong recovery momentum in the tourism sector.
