ToggleIn November, Vietnam exported US$890 million worth of goods to Thailand, up 18.33 percent over October, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$7,982 million worth of goods to Thailand.
Vietnam exported US$253.96 million worth of computers, electrical products, and spare-parts to Thailand in November. This was up from US$158.81 million in October, a change of 59.91 percent.
It also exported US$114.38 million worth of machine, equipment, tools and instruments to Thailand in November. This was down from US$130.83 million in October, a change of -12.58 percent.
Adding to that, Vietnam exported US$77.82 million worth of other products to Thailand in November. This was up from US$59.79 million in October, a change of 30.16 percent.
It also exported US$74.94 million worth of telephones, mobile phones and parts thereof to Thailand in November. This was up from US$54.33 million in October, a change of 37.92 percent.
Finally, Vietnam exported US$58.63 million worth of other means of transportation, parts and accessories thereof to Thailand in November. This was down from US$59.21 million in October, a change of -0.98 percent.

Vietnam trade with Thailand
In November, Vietnam imported US$1,051.11 million worth of goods from Thailand and exported US$889.70 million, for total trade worth US$1,940.81 million, and leaving a trade deficit of US$161.41 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Thailand has reached US$19,962 million, with Vietnam importing US$11,980 million worth of goods and exporting US$7,982 million worth of goods.

Recent developments involving the two countries include:
Thailand’s Central Retail performance in Vietnam
Thai retail group, Central Retail, earned nearly 29,000 billion dong or about 1.1 billion US dollars in Vietnam in the first nine months of the year.
The company reported 35.3 billion baht in revenue, down 6 percent year on year due to exchange rate movements, though revenue in dong rose about 7 percent.
Thai supercenter in Danang
MM Mega Market Vietnam, a subsidiary of Thailand’s TCC Group, has opened its first shopping mall, MM Supercenter Da Nang, a US$20 million project positioned as a major step in its expansion strategy.
The centre is reportedly set to serve as MMVN’s new logistics hub for central Vietnam.

Vietnam-Thailand trade relations
Vietnam and Thailand established diplomatic relations in 1976 and have since expanded cooperation through multiple bilateral and regional frameworks.
Both countries are members of ASEAN, the ASEAN Free Trade Area and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, which facilitate tariff reductions and supply-chain integration.
Trade has grown steadily, supported by agreements on customs cooperation, investment promotion and transport connectivity.
Vietnam imports vehicles, machinery and petrochemicals from Thailand while exporting agricultural products, electronics and industrial components.
