ToggleVietnam exported plastics to the tune of US$203 million in December, up from US$200 million in November, a change of 1.33 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam had exported US$2,347 million worth of plastics by the end of December.
China accounted for US$38 million worth of Vietnam’s plastics exports in December. This was down from US$52 million in plastics exports in November, a change of -26.07 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$323 million worth of plastics to China.
After China was Indonesia making up US$23 million worth of Vietnam’s plastics exports in December. This was down from US$25 million in plastics exports in November, a change of -7.33 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$296 million worth of plastics to Indonesia.
Next was Japan taking US$15 million worth of Vietnam’s plastics exports in December. This was down from US$16 million in plastics exports in November, a change of -6.34 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$209 million worth of plastics to Japan.
Following Japan was India representing US$13 million worth of Vietnam’s plastics exports in December. This was up from US$9 million in plastics exports in November, a change of 45.97 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$136 million worth of plastics to India.
Rounding out the top five was Taiwan constituting US$7 million worth of Vietnam’s plastics exports in December. This was up from US$5 million in plastics exports in November, a change of 42.28 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$61 million worth of plastics to Taiwan.
