ToggleIn November, Vietnam exported US$788 million worth of goods to India, down 5.74 percent over October, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$9,349 million worth of goods to India.
Vietnam exported US$143.27 million worth of computers, electrical products, and spare-parts to India in November. This was up from US$126.76 million in October, a change of 13.03 percent.
It also exported US$99.57 million worth of telephones, mobile phones and parts thereof to India in November. This was down from US$167.73 million in October, a change of -40.64 percent.
Adding to that, Vietnam exported US$96.98 million worth of other base metals and other base metal products to India in November. This was up from US$79.36 million in October, a change of 22.20 percent.
Finally, Vietnam exported US$90.25 million worth of iron and steel to India in November. This was up from US$50.58 million in October, a change of 78.41 percent.

Vietnam imports from India
In November, Vietnam imported US$543.30 million worth of goods from India, up from US$504.72 million in October, a change of 7.64 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has imported US$5,407 million worth of goods from India.

Vietnam trade with India
In November, Vietnam imported goods worth US$543.30 million from India and exported US$788.23 million, bringing total trade to US$1,331.53 million and resulting in a trade surplus of US$244.93 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and India has reached US$14,756.35 million, with Vietnam importing US$5,406.98 million worth of goods and exporting US$9,349.38 million.

Recent developments in trade and investment between the two countries include:
Vingroup US$3 billion India MoU
Vingroup has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Telangana, India, proposing phased investment of about US$3 billion to develop a multi-sector ecosystem.
The plan covers smart cities, manufacturing, healthcare, education, tourism, renewable energy, charging infrastructure and a green taxi service across around 2,500 hectares in Telangana.
Meat imports from India
Vietnam spent more than US$535.52 million importing meat from India in the first 10 months of 2025, remaining its largest supplier of meat and meat products, the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Import–Export Department has said.
India accounted for 150,200 tonnes, or 18.52 percent of Vietnam’s total meat imports, with volumes down 5.8 percent but value up 0.8 percent from the same period in 2024.
Danang port bidders
India’s Adani Ports has entered the bidding for the privately financed component of Da Nang’s Lien Chieu Port, partnering with Vietnam’s T&T Group.
Its consortium is competing against the Vietnam–Netherlands group of Hateco and APM Terminals, and Vietnam’s VIMC with Terminal Investment Limited from Luxembourg.
The tender will open on 24 December, with construction expected to begin in quarter one 2026 if approvals move on schedule.

Vietnam-India trade relations
Vietnam and India established diplomatic relations in the 70s and have since built a comprehensive partnership that includes strong trade cooperation.
Bilateral trade agreements and regular high-level visits have supported growing commerce across sectors such as machinery, electronics, chemicals and agricultural products.
The two countries are both members of the ASEAN–India Free Trade Area, which has helped lower tariffs and expand market access.
Vietnam and India continue to work on deepening economic ties through investment promotion, supply-chain cooperation and new initiatives in energy, technology and maritime connectivity.
