Vietnam-India trade relations
Vietnam and India established diplomatic relations in 1972, building a foundation for long term political and economic cooperation.
Trade ties expanded steadily after Vietnam’s economic reforms, with early agreements focusing on trade facilitation and investment promotion.
A key milestone was the ASEAN–India Free Trade Agreement, which came into effect in 2010 and provided tariff reductions and market access for both sides.
Since then, Vietnam and India have deepened trade through sectoral cooperation in manufacturing, agriculture, energy, and pharmaceuticals.
