Of note, Germany is Vietnam’s largest trading partner in the European Union, serving as a key market for Vietnamese exports such as machinery, textiles, footwear, and agricultural products.
Bilateral trade has grown steadily under the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), which has reduced tariffs and improved market access for both sides.
Vietnam mainly imports machinery, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and vehicles from Germany, supporting its industrial and healthcare sectors.
As economic cooperation deepens, both countries are also expanding collaboration in renewable energy, manufacturing technology, and education to strengthen long-term trade and investment ties.
