Stock market: Vietnam stocks surge, foreign traders net-sell US$58.1 million, Wednesday
The VN-Index closed at 1,657.46 on 24 September, up 22.20 points or 1.36 percent, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange.
Currency: Vietnam dong steady as black market premium widens slightly, Wednesday
The dong’s official reference rate eased on 24 September, with the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) fixing it at VND 25,186 per US$1, down three dong from 23 September’s VND 25,189.
Exports: Vietnam exports to South Korea rise in August on stronger electronics, garment shipments
Vietnam exported US$2.63 billion to South Korea in August, up 2.49 percent from US$2.56 billion in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date exports reached US$18.93 billion.
Trade: Vietnam exports to Spain edge lower in August on weaker footwear and wood shipments
Vietnam exported US$364.89 million worth of goods to Spain in August, down 3.75 percent from US$379.09 million in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date exports reached US$2.85 billion.
Food & beverage: Vietnam animal and vegetable oil imports up in August on stronger shipments from Indonesia, Malaysia
Vietnam imported US$152.97 million of animal and vegetable fats and oils in August, up 24.32 percent from US$123.05 million in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Imports in the first eight months of 2025 reached US$1.02 billion.
Food & beverage: Vietnam wheat imports surge in August on stronger shipments from Australia, USA
Vietnam imported US$148.80 million of wheat in August, more than doubling from US$60.56 million in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$1.02 billion.
