The VN-Index closed at 1,657.46 on 24 September, up 22.20 points or 1.36 percent, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange → view source.
The VN30 gained 32.03 points to 1,853.48, an increase of 1.76 percent.
Mid-cap and small-cap indices also advanced, with the VNMIDCAP up 1.72 percent and the VNSMALLCAP up 1.28 percent.
Sectoral gains were led by finance, with VNFIN up 2.82 percent and VNFINLEAD up 3.09 percent.
Trading activity
Total market liquidity reached nearly VND 27.28 trillion (about US$1.05 billion), up strongly from the previous session.
Order-matching accounted for VND 25.18 trillion, while negotiated trades added VND 2.09 trillion.
SHB led trading volumes with nearly 200 million shares changing hands, followed by VPB and CII.
Top movers
HDB was the day’s top gainer, rising 6.97 percent, followed by CDC, JVC, TDH, and SVD, each climbing nearly 7 percent.
On the downside, PMG dropped 6.99 percent, with DAT, DTT, HSL, and TPC also posting sharp losses.
Foreign investors
Foreign investors continued to sell, with net outflows of VND 1.51 trillion (US$58.1 million).
They bought shares worth VND 2.23 trillion but sold VND 3.73 trillion. Heavy trading focused on TCB, SSI, VPB, MWG, and VHM.
Net buying was concentrated in TCB, MWG, CII, SSI, and DIG.
