Vietnam exported US$2.63 billion to South Korea in August, up 2.49 percent from US$2.56 billion in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date exports reached US$18.93 billion.
Electronics led the gains, with computers and components surging 31.59 percent month-on-month to US$775.60 million, accounting for nearly 29 percent of total shipments.
Textiles and garments jumped 40.58 percent to US$364.07 million, while phones declined 38.22 percent to US$346.93 million.
Machinery slipped slightly to US$288.45 million, though it remained Vietnam’s fourth-largest export item.
Other significant categories included transport equipment at US$146.54 million, fishery products at US$78.72 million, and wood at US$60.61 million.
Footwear exports dipped 3 percent to US$58.26 million, while insulated wires and cameras both posted small declines.
Agricultural exports were mixed, with fruit and vegetables up 9.63 percent but pepper down 23.26 percent.
