Vietnam’s wheat market

Vietnam is a major wheat importer, as domestic production is limited by climate and land suitability, making the country almost entirely dependent on overseas supply.

Most wheat imports are used for flour milling to serve food processing, bakery products, noodles, and animal feed.

Vietnam sources wheat primarily from Australia, the United States, Canada, and Russia, with import volumes closely linked to domestic consumption trends and global price movements.

Demand has grown steadily alongside urbanisation, rising incomes, and expansion of the food and beverage manufacturing sector.
