Vietnam imported US$678.64 million worth of textile, leather and footwear materials and auxiliaries in March, up 28.34 percent from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. The year-to-date total reached US$1.70 billion.
China remained the dominant source with US$414.25 million, accounting for 57.48 percent of total imports, marking a 60.44 percent month-on-month rise. Taiwan, Thailand and Japan also posted increases, while imports from the USA and South Korea fell slightly. Notably, shipments from Hong Kong surged 52.80 percent, and Germany’s grew 52.65 percent. In contrast, Italy, Brazil and Malaysia saw notable declines.
