Vietnam’s soy beans industry

Vietnam’s soybean industry is relatively small compared with other major agricultural commodities, with domestic production mainly supplying food processing, animal feed, and traditional soy-based products.

Soybeans are grown primarily in the northern and central highland regions, but output remains limited due to lower yields and competition from more profitable crops.

As a result, Vietnam relies heavily on imported soybeans and soybean meal, mainly from the United States, Brazil, and Argentina, to meet demand from the livestock and aquaculture sectors.
