Vietnam’s plastic exports experience 29.3 percent drop in November

Vietnam exported US$183.5 million worth of plastics in November, marking a significant 29.3 percent decrease from October, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date, plastic exports amounted to US$2.45 billion, reflecting the sector’s steady contribution despite recent challenges.

China remained the largest importer, purchasing US$24.4 million of Vietnamese plastics, although this represented a sharp 59.42 percent decline from the previous month. Indonesia followed with US$27.07 million, down 20.28 percent. Japan imported US$10.36 million, registering a 36.56 percent decrease. In contrast, Nigeria saw a 27.19 percent rise in imports to US$6.03 million, showcasing potential for market expansion.

Vietnam’s plastic export performance highlights vulnerabilities to global demand fluctuations and market dynamics.
