Vietnam’s imports of cameras and parts fall 9.31 percent in January

Vietnam’s imports of cameras and parts decreased by 9.31 percent month-on-month in January, reaching US$177.08 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This follows a decrease from US$195.27 million recorded in December.

Year-to-date, Vietnam’s total imports of cameras and parts stood at US$177.08 million. China remained the largest supplier, contributing US$91.92 million, or 51.9 percent of the total, followed by Taiwan with US$52.85 million, representing 29.8 percent. Japan supplied US$4.68 million.

Among major suppliers, the UK recorded the highest month-on-month growth, increasing by 1,757.40 percent, while the USA saw a rise of 45.80 percent. In contrast, Japan experienced the steepest decline, with imports falling 48.65 percent. Other key suppliers, such as Thailand and South Korea, also posted significant drops of 44.97 percent and 21.89 percent, respectively.

The camera and parts market in Vietnam continues to rely heavily on China and Taiwan, which together accounted for around 81.7 percent of total imports. While the UK and the USA showed growth, overall imports from most suppliers declined, indicating changing trade dynamics in the sector.
