Vietnam imported fabric worth US$1.32 billion in October, reflecting a 4.96 percent increase compared to September. Year-to-date imports reached US$12.27 billion, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
China remained the largest supplier, contributing US$885.71 million in October, up 10.40 percent month-on-month. South Korea followed with US$120.48 million, marking a 6.01 percent increase. Taiwan, however, saw a decline of 18.68 percent, with imports totalling US$124.14 million.
Japan recorded notable growth, with imports rising by 33.19 percent to US$65.29 million. Thailand and Malaysia also experienced increases of 2.37 percent and 23.12 percent, respectively, with imports valued at US$23.12 million and US$15.61 million.
France saw the highest growth rate among smaller suppliers, with imports surging by 86.23 percent to US$1.74 million. Conversely, Germany’s exports to Vietnam declined by 36.73 percent to US$1.82 million, and Cambodia’s dropped by 22.12 percent to US$0.92 million. Singapore recorded no imports for October.
The overall growth in fabric imports, particularly from key suppliers such as China, South Korea, and Japan, highlights Vietnam’s continued demand for textile materials despite declines from some secondary markets.
