Vietnam’s fabric imports decline 4.61 percent in February 2025

Vietnam’s fabric imports fell by 4.61 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$1.03 billion, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This decline follows January’s total of US$1.08 billion, bringing the year-to-date figure to US$2.11 billion.

China remained Vietnam’s top fabric supplier, accounting for 59.34 percent of total imports, despite a 20.78 percent decrease in shipments to US$611.69 million. In contrast, imports from Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan rose by 25.88 percent, 29.15 percent, and 46.11 percent, respectively.

Smaller markets saw notable surges, with imports from Germany increasing by 269.40 percent and Bangladesh by 300.14 percent. Imports from Belgium recorded the highest growth at 715.27 percent. Meanwhile, imports from Hong Kong declined by 39.00 percent, reflecting shifting trade patterns in Vietnam’s textile industry.
