Vietnam’s cosmetics and toiletries production posts steady annual growth

Vietnam’s production of cosmetics, soaps, detergents, polishes, and toilet preparations increased by 3.3 percent in December compared to November, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.

Year-on-year, the sector declined by 7.4 percent in December compared to December 2023. However, for the full year of 2024, cumulative growth reached 8.3 percent compared to 2023.

The monthly increase reflects stabilised production activity during the year-end holiday season, while the year-on-year decline in December could be attributed to shifting consumer trends or changes in market dynamics. The annual growth underscores the sector’s resilience and growing demand for personal care and hygiene products, both domestically and internationally.

Vietnam’s cosmetics and toiletries industry has seen increased investments in product innovation and sustainability, particularly in eco-friendly and organic offerings. With rising consumer spending power and export opportunities, the sector remains a critical part of Vietnam’s manufacturing and retail landscape.

The steady annual growth highlights the potential for further expansion as Vietnam strengthens its foothold in global markets.
