Vietnam’s cosmetics and personal care sector shows strong industrial growth

Vietnam’s industrial production index for cosmetics, soaps, detergents, polishes, and toilet preparations recorded significant growth in October, highlighting robust expansion in the personal care sector, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index. The sector’s production index rose by 9.5 percent compared to September 2024, reflecting increased monthly output.

Year-on-year, the index saw a 5.2 percent growth in October 2024 compared to October 2023, showcasing steady progress in the industry. Over the first ten months of the year, production surged by 12.9 percent compared to the same period in 2023, marking strong year-to-date growth.

The sharp increase aligns with rising domestic demand for personal care products, fuelled by changing consumer preferences, urbanisation, and increased awareness of hygiene and self-care. This growth trend also reflects Vietnam’s strengthening manufacturing capabilities in this sector, which caters to both domestic and export markets.

The impressive performance underscores the potential of the cosmetics and personal care industry as a key driver of Vietnam’s industrial growth. This expansion highlights opportunities for further investments and innovation in a market witnessing rising consumer demand and global interest.
