Vietnam’s exports of insulated wires and cables reached US$374.44 million in September, down 4.52 percent month-on-month, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date exports totalled US$3.24 billion.
Shipments to the United States dropped 8.74 percent to US$114.94 million, while exports to China declined 1.74 percent to US$84.65 million.
Exports to South Korea and Japan fell 15.59 and 8.26 percent respectively, though Hong Kong surged 173.89 percent to US$21.57 million.
Smaller markets showed mixed results, with growth in Philippines (+13.28 percent) and Australia (+11.65 percent), but sharp declines in Singapore (-40.46 percent) and Thailand (-17.26 percent).

Listed wire and cable manufacturers
Taya (Vietnam) Electric Wire & Cable JSC (TYA) produces and exports power cables, control cables, and copper wires for industrial and residential use.
TYA closed at VND 17,600 on Monday down 1.3 percent with 1,657,000 shares traded, worth VND 2,957 million.
Foreign ownership in TYA is currently capped at 100 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 37.6 percent.

Wire & cable manufacturing in Vietnam
Vietnam’s insulated wire and cable industry supplies both domestic infrastructure projects and major export markets, including the United States, China, South Korea, and Japan.
Local manufacturers such as Cadivi, Taya Vietnam, and Viet Thai Electric Cable Corp produce a wide range of electrical and communication cables for construction, automotive, and industrial applications.
The sector benefits from Vietnam’s expanding manufacturing base, growing power demand, and integration into global electronics and automotive supply chains.
However, it remains exposed to fluctuations in copper prices and export competition from regional producers in Thailand, China, and Malaysia.
