Vietnam car sales in September 2025
Of note, Vietnam’s auto market rebounded in September 2025, with total sales rising 21 percent month-on-month to 26,291 units, though still 18 percent below a year earlier, according to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association.
Passenger car sales jumped 28 percent to 17,623 units, while truck sales increased 14 percent month-on-month and 26 percent year-on-year to 6,704 units.
Bus sales dropped 24 percent from August and 37 percent from September 2024, and only 28 special-purpose vehicles were sold.
Hybrid sales rose 5 percent month-on-month and 31 percent year-on-year to 1,371 units, while 13 electric vehicles were recorded, possibly due to new data collection methods.
The rebound followed a weak August, affected by Ghost Month superstitions that traditionally discourage major purchases.
