Fruits and vegetables imports Vietnam up 60.80 percent in December, USA / China top suppliers

Vietnam imported fruits and vegetables to the tune of US$528 million in December, up from US$328 million in November, a change of 60.80 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year to date, Vietnam had imported US$3,015 million worth of fruits and vegetables by the end of December.

The USA accounted for US$307 million worth of Vietnam’s fruits and vegetables imports in December. This was up from US$133 million in fruits and vegetables imports in November, a change of 131.19 percent. Year to date, the USA has shipped US$901 million worth of fruits and vegetables to Vietnam.

After the USA was China making up US$124 million worth of Vietnam’s fruits and vegetables imports in December. This was up from US$122 million in fruits and vegetables imports in November, a change of 2.27 percent. Year to date, China has shipped US$1,019 million worth of fruits and vegetables to Vietnam.

Next was Australia contributing US$19 million worth of Vietnam’s fruits and vegetables imports in December. This was up from US$10 million in fruits and vegetables imports in November, a change of 93.36 percent. Year to date, Australia has shipped US$170 million worth of fruits and vegetables to Vietnam.

Following Australia was Myanmar representing US$10 million worth of Vietnam’s fruits and vegetables imports in December. This was down from US$11 million in fruits and vegetables imports in November, a change of 3.96 percent. Year to date, Myanmar has shipped US$141 million worth of fruits and vegetables to Vietnam.

Rounding out the top five was Thailand constituting US$9 million worth of Vietnam’s fruits and vegetables imports in December. This was up from US$7 million in fruits and vegetables imports in November, a change of 28.18 percent. Year to date, Thailand has shipped US$75 million worth of fruits and vegetables to Vietnam.
