Germany saw the number of FDI projects it has in Vietnam reduced by 1 in October, but contributed US$3 million in newly registered capital to existing projects, according to the latest data for October from the Ministry of Planning and Investment. This is compared to September, which saw four new projects and US$59 million in newly registered capital.
Year-to-date figures show a total of 18 new projects and US$93.70 million in newly registered capital, indicating Germany’s ongoing role in Vietnam’s economic development.
Several notable German companies have established a presence in Vietnam. Siemens, a global leader in automation and digitalisation, has significant operations in Vietnam, providing solutions across sectors such as energy, transportation, and healthcare. Volkswagen operates in the automotive sector in Vietnam, contributing to the country’s growing car manufacturing industry.
Additionally, BASF, one of the world’s largest chemical companies, has a presence in Vietnam, supplying materials for industries ranging from agriculture to construction. These companies highlight Germany’s diverse investments in Vietnam, spanning sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, and chemicals.
