Vietnam welcomed 3,762 tourists from Belgium in November, marking a month-on-month increase of 1,036 visitors or 38 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism.
Year-to-date, Belgian arrivals reached 29,078, reflecting a 22.1 percent growth compared to the same period last year. Belgium remains a niche but growing European market for Vietnam’s tourism industry.
Belgian tourists are drawn to cultural hubs such as Hanoi and Hoi An, and natural destinations including Halong Bay and Sapa. Vietnam’s coastal areas, particularly Phu Quoc and Danang, also attract Belgian visitors seeking relaxation and beach holidays.
Although there are no direct flights between Belgium and Vietnam, connecting routes through European hubs like Paris and Frankfurt, as well as Middle Eastern hubs such as Doha and Dubai, make Vietnam accessible to Belgian travellers. Airlines such as Qatar Airways, Emirates, and Vietnam Airlines are crucial in linking the two countries.
The notable increase in Belgian arrivals highlights Vietnam’s expanding appeal in Western Europe as a destination for culture, adventure, and leisure.
