Digital assets: Vietnam proposes heavy fines for unlicensed crypto activities
Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance has released a draft amendment introducing administrative sanctions for violations in the crypto asset sector, including fines for both investors and service providers, Tuoi Tre has reported.
Fruits and vegetables: Vietnam exports up 9.66 percent in April, China top destination
Vietnam’s exports of fruits and vegetables reached US$523.52 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a significant increase of 9.66 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) export value of US$1.69 billion.
Cashew nuts: Vietnam imports surge 45 percent in April
Vietnam imported US$732.22 million worth of cashew nuts in April 2025, up 45.07 percent from March, according to the latest data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Total year-to-date imports reached US$1.66 billion, with Cambodia, Tanzania and Ghana as the largest suppliers.
Yarn: Vietnam exports down 6.16 percent in April, China top destination
Vietnam’s exports of yarn reached US$361.42 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a decrease of 6.16 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) export value of US$1.39 billion.
Gaming: Vietnam gaming market forecast to reach US$2.5 billion by 2033
Vietnam’s gaming market reached US$1.2 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow to US$2.5 billion by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.5 percent, according to a report from IMARC Group.
Tourism & hospitality: Hilton to have 14 hotels across Vietnam by end-2025
Hilton will debut its Tru by Hilton brand in Asia Pacific with 14 hotels in Vietnam by late 2025, in partnership with ROX Group (formerly TNG Holdings Vietnam), the company has said in a press release. The first four hotels will open in Hanoi, Ha Long, Lang Son, and Nam Dinh, with future sites planned in Da Nang, Can Tho, Thai Binh, Bac Giang, Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Dak Lak, Hau Giang, Tam Ky, and Viet Tri.
Golf: Industry pushes back against Vietnam ‘luxury’ tax on sport
Vietnam Golf Association Chairman Le Kien Thanh has questioned the logic of taxing golf like alcohol and tobacco under the country’s Special Consumption Tax (SCT), arguing golf is a recognised sport, not a luxury, VietnamNet has reported.
Animal fodder: Vietnam imports up 10.96 percent in April, led by Argentina and India
Vietnam imported US$408.36 million worth of animal fodder and animal fodder materials in April, up 10.96 percent from March, according to the latest data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
