Vietnam’s essential oils and cosmetics imports rise by 4.86 percent in March
Vietnam’s imports of essential oils and resinoids, as well as perfumery, cosmetic, or toilet preparations, reached US$128.93 million in March, a 4.86 percent increase compared to February. The year-to-date (YTD) total stood at US$345.39 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Vietnam’s rubber imports fell nearly 11 percent in March
Vietnam imported US$219.77 million worth of rubber in March, down 10.73 percent from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. The year-to-date total reached US$744.57 million.
Vietnam’s car output up 81.5 percent year-on-year in Q1
Vietnam produced 36,700 cars in March, up from 31,900 units in February, marking a 63.6 percent increase compared to March 2024. Total car output for the first quarter reached 106,400 units, representing a sharp 81.5 percent year-on-year rise, according to data from the General Statistics Office.
Vietnam’s crude oil output down 6.4 percent year-on-year in Q1
Vietnam’s crude oil extraction reached 700,000 tons in March, up from 607,500 tons in February. Total output for the first quarter stood at 1,960,400 tons, reflecting a 2.8 percent decline compared to March 2024 and a 6.4 percent drop year-on-year, according to data from the General Statistics Office.

Vietnam’s tea exports rose by 23.77 percent month-on-month to reach US$14.75 million in March, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Vietnam steel exports targeted in EU anti-dumping ruling
The European Commission has imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty of 12.1 percent on hot-rolled flat steel products exported from Vietnam, citing material injury to EU producers. The measures follow a formal complaint from EUROFER and are part of a broader action also covering Egypt and Japan.

Vietnam’s exports of computers, electronic products, and components rose by 32.38 percent in March compared to February, totalling US$8.57 billion, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
