Vietnam’s gaseous natural gas production decreases by 8.1% in January 2025
Vietnam’s gaseous natural gas production has seen a slight decrease month on month. According to the latest data from Vietnam’s General Office of Statistics, the country produced 572.4 million m³ of gaseous natural gas in December 2025. In January, this figure decreased to 526.0 million m³.
Consumer electronics production in Vietnam remains strong despite January slowdown
Vietnam’s consumer electronics production stood at 286.8 in January, slightly lower than 288.9 in December, marking a 0.7 percent decline month-on-month. This downward trend suggests a slowdown in production after the year-end peak.
Transportation costs in Vietnam record January jump
Transportation costs in Vietnam rose by 0.95 percent in January, contributing 0.09 percentage points to the Vietnam’s Consumer Price Index. The rise was largely driven by airfare prices, which surged 11.08 percent due to increased demand for Lunar New Year travel.
Science and technology in Vietnam records US$98.82 million in January FDI
In January, Vietnam’s professional, scientific, and technological activities sector registered a total of US$98.82 million in new foreign direct investment (FDI), according to data from Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment. This represents a decrease of US$151.1 million compared to December, which saw US$249.9 million invested.
European tourist arrivals in Vietnam record strong growth in January
Vietnam welcomed 266,644 European tourists in January, accounting for 12.9 percent of total international visitors, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. This represents a 25.1 percent month-on-month increase from December and a 22.9 percent rise year-on-year.
