Vietnam’s yarn imports increase by 9.68 percent in February 2025

Vietnam’s yarn imports rose by 9.68 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$212.19 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This follows January’s total of US$193.46 million, bringing year-to-date imports to US$405.83 million.

China remained the dominant supplier, contributing US$126.96 million, a modest 1.14 percent increase. Taiwan and India saw significant growth, with imports rising by 16.79 percent and 29.63 percent, respectively. Thailand recorded a 35.17 percent increase, while Indonesia saw a strong 43.71 percent surge. In contrast, imports from Malaysia and Austria declined by 20.79 percent and 32.59 percent, respectively.

The increase in Vietnam’s yarn imports reflects continued demand from the textile industry, with notable shifts in sourcing from regional and international suppliers.
