Vietnam imported US$261.75 million worth of wood and wooden products in March, up 25.52 percent from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This brought the year-to-date total to US$667.68 million.
China was the largest supplier, with shipments rising 43.64 percent to US$114.12 million, making up over 43 percent of the total. Imports from the USA and Thailand also increased, reaching US$31.97 million and US$13.85 million respectively. Laos, New Zealand, and Brazil recorded strong growth, while imports from France and Congo fell. Notably, Finland, South Korea and Japan posted triple-digit month-on-month increases.
