Vietnam’s textile and garment exports rose to US$3.06 billion in March, up 25.40 percent from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date exports reached US$8.69 billion. The United States remained the largest market, importing US$1.33 billion in March alone, followed by Japan and South Korea, which imported US$382.35 million and US$291.59 million respectively. Exports to Canada grew by 32.61 percent month-on-month, while Germany saw the highest growth among major EU destinations, increasing by 68.10 percent.
The growth reflects strong global demand and a rebound in major markets, especially the US, accounting for nearly 44 percent of total textile and garment exports from Vietnam in the first quarter.
