Vietnam’s sewing clothes sector records strong growth in November

The Industrial Production Index (IPI) for sewing clothes (except fur clothes) increased by 2.25 percent in November compared to October, reflecting steady month-on-month growth, according to Vietnam’s General Statistics Office. This highlights the sector’s continued recovery and resilience amid growing domestic and international demand.

Year-on-year, the sewing clothes sector recorded an impressive growth of 18.07 percent in November 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. Over the first 11 months of 2024, the sector posted a cumulative growth of 10.83 percent compared to the same timeframe last year, demonstrating its significance in Vietnam’s industrial expansion.

The growth can be attributed to rising export demand, competitive production costs, and the adoption of advanced sewing technologies. Vietnam’s integration into global textile supply chains and trade agreements has further solidified its position as a key supplier of sewn clothing products.

Sewing clothes remains a crucial contributor to Vietnam’s textile and garment industry, providing significant employment opportunities and driving economic growth. Sustained investments in innovation and sustainable practices will be essential to ensure the sector’s future growth.
