Vietnam’s rubber imports declined 12.99 percent month-on-month in February, amounting to US$246.19 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This follows January’s total of US$282.94 million, bringing year-to-date imports to US$526.45 million.
Cambodia remained the leading supplier despite a sharp 39.23 percent drop in shipments, contributing US$75.18 million or 30.54 percent of total imports. China also saw a significant decline of 39.89 percent, with imports falling to US$27.80 million. In contrast, imports from South Korea rose 23.49 percent to US$27.04 million, while Japan recorded a 45.08 percent increase to US$17.79 million.
Other notable changes included a 54.70 percent increase in imports from Indonesia and a 136.97 percent surge from Germany. Meanwhile, Myanmar saw an 85.42 percent decline in rubber shipments to Vietnam.
