Vietnam’s ready-made garment production records strong growth in 2024

Vietnam’s production of ready-made garments (except apparel) increased by 1.5 percent in December 2024 compared to November 2024, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.

Year-on-year, the sector expanded by 13.9 percent in December 2024 compared to December 2023. For the entire year, cumulative growth reached 6.1 percent in 2024 compared to 2023, reflecting a strong performance in this segment.

The monthly increase highlights stabilised production levels as global demand remains steady. The robust year-on-year growth in December points to a resurgence in export orders and heightened domestic demand, contributing to the sector’s expansion.

The ready-made garment industry is a vital component of Vietnam’s manufacturing sector, supplying products such as home textiles and industrial garments to domestic and international markets. With increasing investments in automation and sustainable practices, the sector is positioning itself to meet rising global standards and consumer expectations.

The consistent growth underscores Vietnam’s competitiveness as a manufacturing hub for textiles and garments in global supply chains.
