Vietnam’s pharmaceutical material imports rise 7.04 percent in February 2025

Vietnam’s imports of pharmaceutical materials increased by 7.04 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$39.20 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date, total imports stand at US$75.82 million, with China remaining the dominant supplier.

Shipments from China accounted for 69.76 percent of the total, despite a slight month-on-month decline of 3.33 percent to US$27.34 million. India followed with US$5.62 million, recording an 11.53 percent increase. Spain saw the most significant growth, surging 187.94 percent to US$2.73 million, while imports from Switzerland rose 243.51 percent to US$690,710.

Italy and Singapore also recorded strong growth, increasing 54.43 percent and 75.32 percent, respectively. In contrast, shipments from South Korea fell sharply by 84.04 percent, and Austria did not record any exports to Vietnam in February.
