Vietnam’s pastry and sweets imports rose 11 percent in March

Vietnam imported US$54.18 million worth of pastry, sweets and cereal products in March, up 11.46 percent from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. The total import value for the first three months of the year reached US$143.49 million.

China remained the leading supplier, accounting for US$12.53 million or over 25 percent of the total, with a 19.58 percent month-on-month increase. The USA saw a sharp 73.97 percent rise to US$7.78 million, while South Korea, Thailand, and Malaysia also posted double-digit growth. Imports from Indonesia dipped slightly, and Singapore’s shipments fell more than 30 percent.
