Vietnam’s paper imports rose nearly 17 percent in March

Vietnam imported US$217.13 million worth of paper in March, a 16.95 percent increase from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. The total import value for the first three months of the year reached US$557.21 million.

China remained the largest supplier, accounting for US$79.13 million in March, up 35.69 percent month-on-month. Indonesia and Japan followed with imports rising by 26.53 percent and 13 percent respectively. The USA saw a sharp increase of over 170 percent, while Singapore posted a 241 percent jump. In contrast, imports from Sweden, Malaysia, and Thailand recorded notable declines.
