Vietnam’s imports of mobile phones and parts dropped 3.36 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$827.41 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This follows January’s total of US$856.15 million, bringing year-to-date imports to US$1.68 billion.
China remained the dominant supplier, accounting for 86.79 percent of total imports at US$718.14 million, despite a 5.02 percent decline. South Korea followed with US$32.45 million, recording a modest 1.31 percent increase. India saw the highest growth, surging 156.54 percent to US$1.38 million, while the UK also recorded a significant rise of 248.18 percent. Meanwhile, imports from Taiwan and Japan declined by 17.81 percent and 69.17 percent, respectively.
Vietnam’s mobile phone imports continue to be driven by China, with minor shifts in secondary supplier contributions.
