The Industrial Production Index (IPI) for processing milk and dairy products increased by 3.49 percent in November compared to October, reflecting stable month-on-month growth, according to Vietnam’s General Statistics Office. This continued rise demonstrates the sector’s resilience and its growing importance within the country’s food processing industry.
Year-on-year, the milk and dairy processing sector achieved growth of 9.36 percent in November 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. Over the first 11 months of 2024, the sector recorded a cumulative growth of 3.96 percent compared to the same timeframe last year, showcasing consistent performance despite economic challenges.
The sector’s growth is fuelled by rising domestic demand for dairy products and export expansion. Vietnam’s growing middle class and increasing awareness of nutrition have driven demand for high-quality dairy products, while investments in processing technology have enhanced production efficiency and output.
Milk and dairy processing is a vital component of Vietnam’s agricultural and food processing industries, contributing to food security and economic growth. Continued innovation and efforts to meet international standards will be key to sustaining growth in this sector.
