Vietnam’s textile and garment exports decline by 5 percent in November

Vietnam’s exports of textiles and garments reached US$3.05 billion in November, a decrease of 5 percent compared to October, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date exports amounted to US$33.65 billion.

The USA remained the largest market, with exports rising slightly by 1.68 percent to US$1.31 billion. Exports to Japan dropped by 7.94 percent to US$387.94 million, while South Korea saw a significant decline of 46.65 percent, totalling US$186.35 million.

China recorded notable growth, with exports increasing by 11.71 percent to US$121.78 million. Exports to Canada and Germany also showed positive momentum, rising 8.16 percent and 11.61 percent, respectively. In contrast, Cambodia and France experienced declines of 12.90 percent and 4.51 percent, respectively.

The mixed performance underscores the challenges in Vietnam’s textile sector, with steady demand from key markets like the USA and China offset by sharp declines in other regions.
