Vietnam’s imports of soya beans rise by 36.24 percent in December

Vietnam imported US$110.58 million worth of soya beans in December 2024, marking a 36.24 percent increase compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports totalled US$1.13 billion.

The USA was the largest supplier, contributing US$94.40 million, a 37.97 percent increase compared to November. Argentina also made a significant contribution with imports totalling US$10.76 million in December. Canada, while remaining a steady supplier, saw a 16.14 percent decline, contributing US$3.74 million.

Conversely, imports from Cambodia decreased sharply by 81.48 percent to US$1.45 million. The “Other” category also experienced a significant decline of 48.72 percent. Brazil, although not recorded in December, contributed significantly to the year-to-date total with US$535.76 million.
