Vietnam’s imports of pharmaceutical materials surge by 35.5 percent in December

Vietnam imported US$53.39 million worth of pharmaceutical materials in December 2024, a sharp 35.5 percent increase compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$480.09 million.

China remained the leading supplier, contributing US$38.90 million, a 19.54 percent increase from the previous month. India experienced significant growth, with imports surging by 157.30 percent to US$9.18 million. South Korea saw the most dramatic rise, with imports increasing by 1,520.56 percent to US$386,163, while Spain recorded a 395.88 percent increase to US$326,801.

On the other hand, imports from Germany and Thailand dropped by 8.57 percent and 44.71 percent, respectively. Singapore and Italy also saw slight declines of 58.96 percent and 0.70 percent, respectively.
