Vietnam imported US$348.34 million worth of insulated wires and cables in December 2024, marking a 9.52 percent increase compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$3.40 billion.
China remained the largest supplier, exporting US$233.57 million in December, reflecting a 13.09 percent increase from the previous month. Malaysia and the Philippines recorded significant growth rates of 41.69 percent and 29.13 percent, respectively. Imports from Japan also rose by 11.07 percent to US$14.14 million.
Conversely, imports from Germany, Denmark, and France declined by 33.61 percent, 8.67 percent, and 10.60 percent, respectively. Other suppliers collectively saw a slight decline of 3.50 percent, totalling US$72.41 million.
