Vietnam’s fertilizer exports decline by 7.24 percent in January

Vietnam’s fertilizer exports fell by 7.24 percent month-on-month in January, reaching US$60.71 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

South Korea was the largest market, accounting for 33.96 percent of total exports at US$20.62 million, a 59.15 percent increase from December. Cambodia followed with US$16.34 million, making up 26.91 percent of total exports, though it saw a 23.09 percent decline. Malaysia ranked third with US$5.53 million, representing 9.11 percent of total exports, a slight decrease of 1.79 percent.

Compared to December, Myanmar recorded the largest increase, surging by 260.32 percent to US$2.21 million. Japan also saw strong growth, rising by 83.45 percent to US$3.03 million. In contrast, exports to Taiwan and Thailand dropped sharply, falling by 72.51 percent and 96.99 percent, respectively.

The top three markets—South Korea, Cambodia, and Malaysia—accounted for 69.98 percent of Vietnam’s total fertilizer exports in January. While some smaller markets saw growth, overall exports declined, reflecting fluctuating demand.
