Vietnam imported fabrics worth US$1.29 billion in November, a decline of 2.0 percent compared to October, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date fabric imports reached US$13.57 billion.
China remained Vietnam’s largest supplier, contributing US$866.08 million, though this reflected a slight month-on-month decrease of 2.22 percent. South Korea followed with strong growth, increasing by 14.61 percent to US$138.08 million. Taiwan saw a decline of 5.45 percent, with imports totalling US$117.38 million.
Imports from Japan fell by 13.15 percent to US$56.71 million, while Malaysia experienced the largest drop at 44.73 percent, with imports falling to US$8.63 million. In contrast, Italy recorded significant growth, rising by 22.87 percent to US$15.03 million. The USA also saw a healthy increase of 11.02 percent, reaching US$5.22 million.
Despite the overall decline, Vietnam’s demand for fabrics remained steady, with notable growth from markets like South Korea, Italy, and the USA balancing the decreases from China and Taiwan.
