Vietnam’s export turnover to Germany reached over US$707.56 million in October, a significant increase of 25.38 percent month-on-month, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This brings the year-to-date total to US$6.53 billion, demonstrating strong growth in trade relations with Germany.
Exports of handbags, purses, and similar items rose sharply by 42.90 percent month-on-month, totalling US$22.27 million in October, while year-to-date figures for this category reached US$159.68 million. Machine, equipment, tools, and instruments also saw notable growth, increasing 30.14 percent from September to US$131.43 million.
Tea exports experienced the highest growth rate in October, surging by 106.42 percent month-on-month to US$196,558. Plastic products followed closely with a 28.24 percent increase, reaching US$16.91 million.
Despite overall growth, some categories saw declines. Rubber exports dropped by 53.26 percent month-on-month to US$5.36 million, and exports of iron and steel plummeted by 52.20 percent to US$153,531. Still image and video cameras fell 23.76 percent compared to the previous month.
Year-to-date, leading export categories include machine, equipment, tools, and instruments (US$1.07 billion) and textiles and garments (US$633.88 million), highlighting Vietnam’s strong industrial and consumer goods presence in the German market. The figures underscore Vietnam’s diversification of exports and its robust trade partnership with Germany.
