Vietnam’s exports of cashew nuts decreased by 8.09 percent in December compared to November, reaching US$364.5 million, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Vietnam’s exports of cashew nuts total US$4.34 billion for 2024, reflecting a strong performance despite the month-on-month decline. The “Other” category showed a slight increase of 1.40 percent month-on-month, reaching US$205.7 million.
The decrease in overall cashew nut exports was primarily due to a significant drop in exports to China, which saw a 38.52 percent decline, amounting to US$58.7 million. Other key markets like the Netherlands, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia showed positive growth, with exports rising by 10.39 percent, 5.05 percent, and 34.17 percent, respectively. Exports to the UK also saw a notable increase of 32.57 percent, reaching US$7.1 million.
However, some markets experienced a decline. Exports to Germany, Russia, Australia, and Spain dropped by 1.17 percent, 19.45 percent, 8.82 percent, and 14.67 percent, respectively.
